Plato/socrates argue that to live a good life is to maximize the good doig what is best for the soul. He claims that these increase pleasure and remove suffering spiritually, not bodily. Aristotle was a pupil of plato and an athenian philosopher in the socratic tradition. Unlike socrates or plato, he wrote extensive works in his own voice, on topics ranging aesthetic to zoology. His physics and metaphysics were very influential, and they formed the basis for all scientific and philosophical work in europe from 300 bc to the 16th century. He also taught alexander the great , who then conquered many countries a little non-scientific i guess. This i will certainly not do, unless i see a sign of love, lest you be testing me. Therefore, come to my chamber crawling on hand and foot, in order to carry me like a horse. Then i"ll know that you aren"t deluding me.
