One of the central tension points in the modern world is the tension between western christianity and the muslim world. It can be viewed as a religious conflict, but it can also be argued to be a tension between how the individual in each society fits. In 2002, an egyptian who lived in the us produced a video about mohammed. That video was eventually talked about in egypt. It led to enormous protests because the video was viewed as very sacrilegious. Street protests were mostly by people who hadn"t even seen the video but had heard about it. The professors interpretation on the video was not that it was blasphemous but rather that it was putrid, so poorly done.
