Population--airline company customers; sample--all the passengers on a randomly selected 25 flights. Population--a city; sample--the third house to the west of the southeast corner of each block/the westernmost ground floor apartment. Population--a university"s employees; sample--a random sample selected from each group of staff, faculty, and student employees. Population--a large variety store"s customers; sample--100 opinions by asking the next person who came in the door each time an interview was finished. Case study; through administering questionnaires to the patients that the doctor claimed to have cured, the researcher is able to conduct an in-depth examination of the doctor"s claim of being able to cure migraine headaches. Observational; all the available choices (clinic visitation, treatments) are made by the patients, so everything up to that point has not been manipulated by researchers. Researchers simply observed the patients who visited the clinic and picked either treatment via hypnosis or nicotine patches.
