Definition, people hold about themselves, which indicate both their unique combination of biopsychological characteristics, group memberships and overall function in the social structure. Ex: student at uci, american citizen, democrat, guy, older brother, son, criminology major, 22, athlete, asian american, middle class, etc. The system of symbols people in a society use to create, store, and organize their affairs. Ideas that people in a society share about exists, what is true. Ideas that people in a society share about what is good or bad, used as standards for judging actions, ethical principles.
