Are capable of undergoing heritable changes ( mutation ) Obtained mutant strains that could not grow on minimal medium (mm) Some of these could grow in mm + arginine. Can they grow on compounds similar to arginine? but could grow on complete" medium. Can grow on minimal medium (mm), mm + ornithine, Can grow on mm + ornithine, mm + citrulline, mm + Can grow on mm + citrulline, mm + arginine. Can grow on mm + arginine only. Prokaryotes : transcription and translation occur in the cytoplasm. Eukaryotes : transcription and rna processing occur in the nucleus, translation occurs in the cytoplasm. A gene is a segment of a chromosome.
