Polymerase chain reaction (pcr) can be used to amplify the desired/target gene for. Pcr primers can be designed to include restriction sites that allow the product to be cloned into plasmid vectors. The resulting clones are sequenced and error-free inserts selected. Restriction enzyme and pcr combination is used in gene cloning. Dna fragments obtained by pcr with restriction sites matching those in the cloning vector. Cut with same restriction enzyme used on cloning vector. A gene that makes bacterial cells resistant to an antibiotic is present on the plasmid mix and ligate recombinant dna plasmid only cells that take up a plasmid will survive growing on antibiotic containing media. Dna fingerprinting : recombinant dna techniques are used in dna. Gene therapy : a normal gene is inserted into the genome to replace an fingerprinting. In the future, may be used to treat a disorder by inserting a gene into a patient"s cells instead of using drugs or surgery.
