When we"re talking about what we believe to be true, we"re talking about two things: what to say - the truth and associated truths; can never really say everything about anything. You can tell the truth, without telling all of the associated truths. Over the last 25 we have developed a cheating culture in the united states. Always say less than necessary, because powerful people intimidate by saying less: actively withholding information, machiavellian - getting people to do what you want them to do, while making them think it was their idea. People who lie situationally: not as easy as saying yes: i lie; no, i don"t, context is important. In situational truth and deception, we look at consequences. We teach our kids not to lie, and then teach them how to lie for social etiquette. First step in learning how to learn how to lie like an adult:
