Document Summary

Hadley cell- form because the equator is heated more strongly by the sun, causing thermal circulations. Air rises over the equator (0) and it is dean poleward by the pressure gradient (60-90) Itzc- hadley cells meet, here there is no wind, air flows upward so there is a lot of rain. Itzc moves north during the summer, moves south during winter (always around the equator. ) Atmospheric pressure- when you go outside, there is a column of air pushing on you. The amount of that column pushing of you is the air pressure. At sea level- 1km of air presses down on each cm of surface. Our coast in fl is higher than the one in california, so sea level is not standard for everyone. Direction is identified by the direction from which the wind comes from. In the us most of our wind comes from the west.
