Have never solved a single social problems. Each group believes their religion is either the only, or the most, valid. Few people question their motives for believing in a religion. Few people question the validity of their religion. Lots of reasons to believe in a religion most of which are related to security and lowering our anxiety about death and to some extent, making us feel special . And they are inventing god, and that creates different stories. Everything was fine until one day, encountered person(s) from dissimilar tribe or social group and find out that this person has a different god or a different story on how life began . It makes you start to question and doubt the validity of your religion. Typical reaction is to want to annihilate the other person or tribe. Religiosity is correlated with increased racial, gender, sexual orientation, and religious bigotry.
