Large amounts of african americans have sub-standard housing: many of these problems are the outcome of historical racism and the widespread public indifference amongst the majority population itself, pg. Anti-black racism, anti-black police violence: racializing policing, punitive policing in black communities, critique of policing and its relationship to race. Inflicting non-lethal, civil and human rights abuse against black people every day. Protecting whiteness/ policing blackness: whiteness as a structural position atop the racial order; blackness needs to be policed, whiteness, extolling capita accumulation, whiteness, not (necessarily) tied to white bodies; white-supremacy, a multicultural project. 4/20/17: read to pg 54, ch 4, pg. 24-25, filando castille was shot to death and it was on video, officer was on paid leave: ch. 3- americans in the constitution. 5/18/17: read through brown vs board of edu, overturned segregated schools.
