These uncertainties are partially managed by media switching. Unstable speech act: uncertain end result, sometimes one person thinks a breakup happened and the other person doesn"t, etc. Media ideologies: people"s beliefs, attitudes, and strategies about the media they use that function in ways parallel to how language ideologies function.
