Extremely difficult often, people may have 1 or 2 possibilities. Variety of ways that lesions can appear on bone. Eg. cut marks above the elbow joint might be evidence of hunting activities or pseudo-pathology trowel trauma. Bite marks may also tell the species of the rodent. Small round holes are the most common thing you will see. Small holes on the inside of the skull (layer on the inner table) Being pushed in maybe penetrate from the outside. Eg. osteoarthritis no evidence of osteoclastic activity, only bone building activity, knee joint one bone polished the other (advance destruction) Figure out the age would be helpful to determine the occurrence of the lesions. Usually a sign of cancer, some kinds of cancer. Cancer coming for the blood help to narrow down to the type of cancer: distribution of lesions. Temperature of the bone: age & sex. Eg. rheumatoid arthritis: most common: young women, rare in males.
