Document Summary

August 1492, columbus sailed from palos, spain with 3 small ships, santa maria under columbus, the pinta under martin pinzon, and the nina under vicente. Remember when we talk about monsoons ^^ With condensation comes latent heat, which is then converted into sensible heat. Air rises = cools and then water vapor condenses. Where there is rising air, there tends to be a lot of clouds. In high pressure regions, air is sinking; therefore = evaporation. As air rises, and moisture condenses, and it becomes cold and dry. The air that rises in tropics is replaced by air moving in from north and south. This region where surface air converges as warm air rises and forms clouds is called. Warm moist air moves vertically with evaporation, horizontally with condensation at top. Movement in atmosphere influences movement at surface of ocean. What happens? currents develop, differences in temperature occur.
