Document Summary

Now have to govern a conquered french population in america, new territory in florida from the spanish which you want to colonize. Measure that the king declared to kind of govern the empire, at least for a couple of years (not meant to be a permanent thing) Put quebec and florida under military rule; colonists would go there but there would be no representative government but this was promised in the future. Attempts to centralize the relationship into the hands of the royal officials between the native americans and the british empire. From the colonial perspective, they had fought the war so that they could get more land. Rationale is that they didn"t want another war with the indians. From the colonial perspective, the fact that an army was going to stay in america after the war pushed all kinds of buttons.
