This consists on removing the bony roof covering the spinal cord and nerves to create more space for them to move freely. This barrier protects the central nervous system by stopping certain molecules like bacteria and bad cells to enter the cns. This is a molecule released after any inflammatory condition. The myelin is the fat that surrounds the axon of neural cells, forming an insulated layer. Such insulation aids the conduction of nerve impulses. The scar tissue stops worsening damage by containing it within it. An inelastic scar can in the middle inhibits bodily activities.
