Dense connecive issue (lots of collagen ibers, less ground substance) Collagen ibers in preferred direcion/ stressed in 1 direcion. Arteries and bronchi, some ligaments where recoil is important. Carilage- connecive issue with chondrocytes (live in lacunae) Ground substance gives it irm and lexible quality. Glassy collagen ibers (short and can"t see them) Epiglois- allows it to close really well over opening of respiratory tract. Gross bone structure: apophasis (viewable by naked eye) Intersiial lamellae old bone that has been grown over, remodeled. Connect lacunae to each other and to central canal. Can turn into osteocytes if surrounded by bone.
