Will enzymaically digest a pathway to ferilize oocyte. Once 1 sperm ferilizes, all other inhibited by chemical changes induced by zona pellucida. Unequal contribuion of cytoplasm- small amount in the sperm compared to the oocyte. Ater fusion, 2 haploid cells fuse into a diploid cell (zygote) Meiosis ii is completed in order for (ferilizaion -> development) Protein synthesis is simulated and cytoplasm segregates -> polarity and dna replicaion. 24 hours ater ferilizaion, zygote begins cleavage followed by mitoic divisions where the volume of egg cytoplasm divide into smaller cells which are called blastomeres.
