Diverse ways people think about gender (the way you view/express yourself) In all societies, some individuals do not identify with some or all aspects of gender assigned to biological sex; some of those individuals are transgender or genderqueer. Some societies have third gender categories: hijra in india (intersex/eunich/cross-dressing male) Fa(cid:859)afafine: in some polynesian societies; anatomically male, but dress/behave in feminine manner. How we present ourselves to the world, carry ourselves, dress, and talk. Considers a spectrum of masculine traits/behaviors and feminine traits/behaviors. Boys and girls differ in toy, playmate, and activity preferences. Hines 2011 study: boys tend to prefer toys like vehicles (cars, trains, trucks, airplanes) and weapons, whereas girls prefer toys like dolls and tea sets.
