Document Summary
Stand up and give the professor the middle finger. She told us too and she has authority, so we all respond to higher levels of authority. Hard to know what it means here when someone with authority tells you to disrespect them. We tend to respect authority even when we don"t mean it. Feels like we chose independently, especially in the united states, and we think we interpret things by ourselves, when it is not actually true. Diffusion of responsibility: hidden from reprocussion/blame when you are hidden in a group vs. being by yourself, it may be harder commit bad actions or altruistic actions that may be embarrassing. We look at others to (cid:494)define the situation(cid:495). It is harder to to it by yourself when you cannot see if everyone else will (cid:494)obey or disrespect(cid:495) Ex) irresponsibility: (cid:498)no single raindrop believes it is to blame for the flood(cid:499)
