Line: verbal and nonverbal actions used to create/maintain your face. Face-work: actions done to maintain a positive self-image when interacting with others. People occupy multiple roles and act differently in each. The process whereby a basserby quickly glances at another and then looks away again. Unfocused interaction: when individuals exhibit awareness of one another"s presence.
