Any force during an argument: holding them down, restraining them. Men though have more physical violence though. Recommendations for talking with a person who is abused: Let them know that you care and support them: only the abuser can stop the violence. Talk about physical violence is never acceptable: no good excuses for it (drinking) They need to know they are not alone. The violence will still happen and most likely get worse.
