The chibchas are the best metal workers and they were never conquered by the incas. Teotihuacan is a planned city- whether it dominated or was just a trading center we don"t know. Traded obsidian- a type of glasslike volcanic rock. Quetzalcoatl was the god/protector of the city: he was the god of wind and wisdom. Mexico was like ancient greece, separate city states that were powerful on their own. After 900, there starts to be more trouble: more warfare.
