We should ask why they are not supported, if most muslims really believe in freedom and democratic forms of government. We cannot understand why the so-called "arab spring" went wrong apart from this. Militant islam hates everything western and not originally muslim. A general muslim perspective will generally- across the board- find most elements of american or european culture repugnant and offensive. The vast majority of muslims feel this way. The liberal social agenda seen throughout the west is repulsive to islam at the deepest levels.
