1. Empathy- identifying with feelings, thoughts, and/or attitudes of another

a. Inhalation- intake of air
b. Exhalation- release of air
c. Volume- degree of loudness
c.i. Inflection-change in pitch
c.ii. Melody- pattern in levels of pitch

d. Quality- characteristics of tone
e. Can evoke moods/feelings
f. Rate- pace of which person speaks
g. Pronunciation- correctness of sounds/accents in spoken words
