Did not know function of fallopian tubes: a collection of his works was published in venice in 1584, wrote a book/was interested in french diseases, particularly venereal disease. The incidence of syphilis was reaching epidemic proportions in western europe at this time: performed the first clinical trial of condom (penile sheath) efficiency in preventing stds. Describes a trial using a penile sheath (condom) made of lamb intestine on 1,100 men.
