DIET 4475 Lecture Notes - Lecture 31: Web Conferencing, Veganism
Document Summary
The last webinar i chose discusses the concept of picky eating in children and how parents and caregivers can deal with this issue in feeding infants. Dr. smith begins the webinar by differentiating between infant feeding, adolescent feeding, and the parents role in both. Successful feeding is measured based on adequate physical growth of the infant, feeding milestones, and social and cultural outcomes. In the concept of infant feeding, the parent is responsible for what the child eats and the child is responsible for how much they eat, if they eat, and everything else associated. Parents play the smallest role in this stage because it is often difficult to get the child to begin eating solid food. In adolescent feeding, the parent is responsible for when the child eats, where the child eats, and what the child eats. The adolescent is responsible for whether they eat and how much they eat, again.
