Start with the understanding of how you are supposed to act according to your sex. Developing gender identity influences self esteem and self efficacy. All about how you should act as a male or female. This is the set of behavioral expectations. Boys have a narrower range of acceptable behavior. This is the behavioral blueprint for girls. It would be the goal of a parent to raise their children with both masculinity and femininity, but they typically just follow the blueprint and disapprove of cross behavior.
