Psyc 1101 notes - general psychology ii - dr. magley. Focused on trying to understand what is going on in the brain. How and why do people experience things, in terms of how developed their brain is. Information-processing approach favored now wrt cognitive development. Since we can"t communicate with infants, our only option is to perform experiments on them and see their output behavior. Habituation - you show a stimulus to a child for so long that they"ve become some used to it being around them, that they"ve become habituated (eye movements are highly tracked) Language development has also been a very important interest in psychologists, in order to try to figure out how our cognition develops as we get older.
