These students are people with means, middle class whites, dealing with personal issues. Idea that certain racial others are required to behave according to stereotype. South asians should be scientific professionals, cab drivers, quickie mart clerks. South asian hindus who look like oriental monk icons are yoga gurus, have a magical energy, know the secrets to achieving liberation from suffering. What we call yoga is not taken from ancient india, but is a modern creation. Yoga has had a wide range of semantic meanings.
