-Carrick represents the forgiving notion of America

the pressures of mom; father gains life from this (older version of
Ichiro- doing what he’s been asked to do)
Kenji dies

Climax: Ichiro and Bull get into a fight at the Club Oriental,
Freddie drives away from Bull & car flips and he dies
-Ichiro’s doppelganger died → dark side of Ichiro gone and he’s
released from Freddie
Rebirth of Ichiro encourages violence → violence leads to
recognition, it is a means to something else rather than an end
Death is the catalyst for Ichiro to rediscover himself
