The greco-persian wars: the ionian revolt (499-493 bce) Spartans and bronze map (brought with ionians) Athens and appeals to common ancestry (claimed to be distant relatives) Initially had success until persians squashed rebellion couple years later. Darius i and athens (angry that athens got involved in rebellion) Servant constantly reminds darius to remind athenians of regretful actions.
