Ex: we would say many cars, but much traffic. Many and much are not interchangeable despite cars and traffic being similar. One is pluralized, the other is not. Same meaning, both nouns, but two different categories of word. You can not predict the word"s meaning based off of its gender. Both words may be nouns, but fall into different gender categories. Ex: kevin called the office vs. kevin was called into the office. Sounds come from different parts of the mouth. Ex: (p,b,m) come from the lips, (t,d,n) come from the tongue and teeth. A noun is a person place or thing (ex: table). A verb is an action (ex: trot). We can also say the committee tabled the proposal or the horse slowed to a trot. Breaking the aforementioned definitions of a noun and verb. There is more than one way to categorize words. Ex: as in this case, structural distinction.
