The moon makes exactly one rotation every orbit around the earth. The far side of the moon is not the same as the dark sun. The far side is pointed away from the earth, while the dark side is the part that is not facing the sun. The term perigee is when the moon is closest to the earth. Apogee means the the moon is farthest from the earth. Highland areas: are bright, rough, heavily created, also known as terrae. They cover less of the lunar surface than the highlands. They have craters but not as numerous as highlands. Smaller-scale features craters: they are the most numerous on the moon. The rim is higher than the terrain; the interior is lower than terrain. There can be tiny craters in bigger ones. mountains: there are many mountain ranges on the moon. A mountain range on the moon is called apennine mountains.
