Spends summer on the scottish coast studying nature. In 1827 transfers to christ college, cambridge to become a parson (priest) Mentored by john henslow, trained as a naturalist. At that time, most of the best naturalists were members of the clergy, as they thought it was their duty to describe and categorize god"s creation. Charles became known as the one who walks with henslow . Darwin graduates 1831 and was on track to be ordained as a minister. Given command of the second beagle voyage. Searching for a naturalist and gentleman companion .
