We have an old, leaky water pipe system. Over 30% of water is thrown onto ground. Pumping water after treatment in sd uses 60% of our electricity. 40% all of california"s electricity to move water. Ways to conserve water: xeriscaping uses water efficient vegetation such as cacti and shit that don"t use a lot of water. Don"t have a lawn: 1 minute showers, charge more for water (vote) hopefully discourages wasteful use, become vegan or vegetarian / eat less meat. Fuel cycle: mine, transport, process, power plant, dispose waste. 10000 more so2 and particulates than natural gas. Seen heavy divestment (more and more people taking their money out of coal) Produces just half of co2 emissions than coal. #1 source of electricity in ca, tied with coal in us. Disadvantage: methane is about 25 times more potent than co2. Eliminates 1st to 3rd steps of fuel cycle. Highest energy payback (how much u pay to how much u get back)
