○ Repetition and elaboration
● Emotions are somehow generated by ions flowing in and out of cells
● Consciousness - “the hard problem”
○ How to go from charged particles in cells and cell membranes to consciousness
○ Trying to understand how these organic metabolic processes translate into
experiences of life that we have
○ Still a misunderstood or lacking phenomena - unable to
solve
● Mind and brain - two separate entities (previously believed)
○ Now we consider the mind to be the operation of the brain
● Mid-sagittal section ***shows up on first midterm***
● Planar views of the brain - three dimensional structures
