To illuminate the relationship between nationalism, a women"s education and feminism that developed in east asia during the turn of the century. Reformist intellectuals and politicians believed that national unity was key to preserving autonomy in the new world. Women"s education became a priority in this new context for reformist intellectuals. Some women rejected the way that their advancement was pursued for nationalist goals, and joined internationalist political movement. Everything they were given, it helped with nationalism so many women rejected the reform. Nation-state as the desired political form in the new era: Modern forms of warfare required mass participation. Militarism; japanese took this very seriously as they reclassified samurai. Necessary to engage in military conflict in this new modern era.
