Locus of control: internal = your actions control outcome, external = outside world controls what happens to you, it is out of your control. Those with external locus can attribute outcome to be due to a powerful other or to chance. Give same test to same people on different occasions and look for a correlation. Correlation is stronger for a short period of time because not much changes in a week. Some things should not be measured this way if they fluctuate a lot (ex- teenager emotions: equivalent forms reliability- calculated by correlating measurements from a sample of individuals who complete 2 different forms of the same test. Test is reliable if people do same on both versions: internal consistency reliability- assesses how consistently items of test measure a single construct. Multiple items measured one time: inter-rater reliability- calculated by determining level of agreement among raters.
