Document Summary

The ways of periodizing history is misleading. We will not realize the truth of history if we periodize history. The only way to make sense of history is to make sense of the mode of production. The only thing that matters in human life is to make a living. What is crucial about the mode of production is that they cannot tell everything, must also look at the mode of stratification. The history of all is the history of class struggle. The key of struggle is that those who have/own are those with power. Those who do not have or own, do not have power. Humans are always inventing and making new means to survive. Cannot understand human history only by looking at class conflict, you must also look at the technical means (how people are organized to make production possible) Just because technical forces of means of production are available doesn"t mean people can organize effectively.
