ANFS140 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Carpal Bones, Abaxial, Median Plane
Document Summary
The vertebrae are dorsal to the heart. The tongue is ventral to the nasal cavity. The neck is cranial to the tail. The hindlimb is caudal to the fore limb. The elbow is proximal to the digit. The carpus is distal to the elbow. Closer to the midline the chest is medial to the thoracic limbs. Further from the midline the shoulder is lateral to the ribs. Part on the head closer to the nose the nose is rostral to the ears. The surface below the proximal ends of the carpus directed caudally or toward the ground, replacing caudal for this portion of the limb the dew claw on the ox is located on the palmar surface of the forelimb. The surface below the proximal ends of the tarsus directed caudally or toward the ground, replacing caudal for this portion of the limb. Nearer to the surface the biceps brachii muscle is superficial to the humerus.
