Signal/noise ratios (for ex: taking classroom noise ratio compared to student/teacher voice) Sdt/sat (most likely used on foreign students that still have cognitive ability they are just unfamiliar with english language) Srt (mostly used on patients with cognitive disabilities; autism) 50% accurate word recognition using spondee words. Srt should = pta not = 10 db hl (can be influenced by configuration of hearing loss) Used to determine db sl for discrimination testing. Use only in patients who cannot give srt. Young children, profound deafness, cognitive disabilities, foreign language student. Sat tends to be 10 db below srt. Can be due to a single frequency. 2 syllable words with equal stress on both syllables. *careful about specific words you pick, want to use words that your patient knows. Want to adjust microphone so our voice stays around 0 on the meter. Stay within +/- 3 db hl for presentation. Hard to keep voice within +/- 3 db hl.
