Twin pillars of sustainable energy are energy efficiency/conservation and renewable energy. 84% of all commercial energy is either lost as heat (41% 2nd law) or wasted unnecessarily (43%) by poor or inefficient design. Large data centers use only 10% of the power consumed, with rest escaping as heat. Keep doing the same stuff but using less energy is efficiency. Conservation is requiring a change in behavior and or lifestyle to reduce energy use. Policy incentives focus on efficiency - people don"t want to use less energy. Easiest , cleanest and most cost effective strategy to address energy problems is to use less energy. Also conserves fuel supplies, improves energy security, provides phase in period for renewables. Energy for movement is 18-25% of input energy.
