Just because the outcome is good, it does not mean that it is an example of resilience. One has to be exposed to risk. Family resilience is an ongoing, often emergent process in families and not a stable trait. The processes by which families restore balance (reduce demands, increase capabilities and/or changing meanings) reflects regenerative power if the outcome is good (family bonadaptation) Determine a time when your family was grappling with a low, medium or high stress occurrence. What capabilities (protective factors) were in place to ensure that your family unit did not evolve into a crisis state. My mom who was a stay at home mom with no college degree, started working. If using systems theories, put them in conversation with one another, not just listing. Purpose: show how deeply and analytically approach work with families, children and communities.
