KAAP301 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: Attractor, Motor Skill, Dynamical System
Document Summary
Theories tell us where to look for change. How facts relate to each other and explain changes: explain the important change, help us explain why change occurs. What changes will occur in the future: help you predict based upon theories what will happen to an individual in the future, as practitioners we need to know what we are looking at and what can happen. Theories of md: provide a framework by which we can understand change, limit what we see and how we interpret them. They can be very limiting: depending on strength of the theory this can be a good thing or a bad thing. Comes from medicine and other science fields: facts of interest: observable motor skills. Maturation of the nervous system: explanation of change: maturation of nervous system triggers appearance of new skills. Genetically pre programmed in each individual: prediction of change: predetermined, age dependent onset of new skills.
