Combines data from 3 methods (24 hour recall, 3 day food record and/or ffq) Only used for research (b/c ffq not used clinically) Doesn"t alter usual diet (retrospective; use 3 different methods) Data on all nutrients can be obtained. 1-2 hours per person required to conduct interview. Need highly trained interviewers; needs to be consistent. Give patient a container and say anytime you have a certain amount of food/drink; make the same amount and dump it in the container. Reserved for research container is sent to lab and they do bomb calorimetry to get total energy from the food, etc. Food and nutrient intake at individual level.
