Document Summary

Concerned with the fundamental principles of the universe. Classical physics before 1900 and modern from 1900 on. Theory and experiments should complement each other. Theory can be modified or created new and may apply to limited conditions. Aristotle claimed that an object falls at a speed proportional to its weight. But galileo galilei showed the falseness of aristotle"s claim. Democritus said that all matter is composed of indivisible tiny things made up into small not being able to be seen by the eye structures. In early 1800s the english chemist john dalton performed a # of experiments that eventually led to the acceptance of the idea of atoms. Physics and engineering are based on precise measurements. Vigesimal is based on 20 numeral system. The duodecimal is based on a 12 numeral system. Physics is based on the precise measurement of physical quantities. Therefore we need rules for measurement and comparison units for measurement.
