Absolute threshold - minimum amount if stimulus to detect something, don"t taste a tiny bit of salt then add more and nally taste it. Di erence threshold - experiencing something already until you get enough until you realize a di erence, initial stimulus compared to the other stimulus, proportional. Dilemma: abandoned idea of a simple threshold for all people at all times. Nature of stimulus - what is it? (visual / auditory) Depending on how you pay attention, experience can be changed. Must be quickly able to process someone"s face / emotions. Triangle: eyes to eyes, eyes to mouth, eyes back to eyes. Cannot piece together features of a face to make sense of it. Gets by by breaking down each face like a puzzle. Either by noticing certain features piece by piece or recognizing trends of people that may show they are from a later time. Not a memory issue, but a perception issue.
