Facial expressions - communicate & elicit speci c behaviors. Facial expression - signal the state of interpersonal relationships. Contempt facial expression signals that a couple will break up. Little kid falls, looks around and sees reactions. Especially in context that we are not familiar with. Embarrassment and guilt - apology displays, serve as a way to motivate to not do something again. Embarrassment occurs after one"s broken a social or contextual norm. Models of self - cultural expectation of how we de ne ourself. Similar physiology but cultural di erences in facial expressions.
