Important active compounds in marijuana: thc (delta-0-tetrahydrocannabinol, partial agonist of cb receptors, has active metabolite (11-hydroxy-delta-9-thc) To of thc is available in smoke. So, if 1. 5 g joint has 50 mg of thc, only 12-15mg is available. Very non-polar compound: half-life is about 30 hours. Cannabiniol- weak partial agonist, not hallucinogenic, anxiolytic & antipsychotic properties. Designer cannabinoids (not natural, but synthesized) full cb receptor agonists: strong effects and adverse effects. Decreased in cognition: perceptional slowness, slow rt, decreased learning/memory.
