Global response to hiv: treatment as prevention, or treatment for treatment . The primary purpose of this article is to determine whether human immunodeficiency virus, also known as hiv, should be treated to prevent or treated for treatment. According to art, antiretroviral therapy, treatment as prevention is a beneficial way to attack hiv. Art programs primary goal is to help lower the mortality and morbidity of individuals. It can be difficult for art to reach countries that have a high hiv/aids rate due to resource-limited settings such as lack of human resources, unreliable laboratories, poor health infrastructures, etc. Yet, these challenges did not hinder art from aiding to others. Studies showed that pregnant women who started antiretroviral therapies as soon as possible could not only protect their health but improve the child"s health and eventually destroying hiv in the child.
